An Inventory of Measurement Tools for Evaluating Community Coalition
Characteristics and Functioning
A review of the research literature and the Internet was conducted
to identify measurement tools for evaluating coalition functioning.
Available information concerning validity and reliability reported
in the original article/report is included in these tables, as well
as reported associations with other measures. The measurement tools
were organized into a set of tables by five general categories (which
are not necessarily mutually exclusive): 1) Member Characteristics
and Perceptions, 2) Organizational or Group Characteristics, 3)
Organizational or Group Processes and Climate, 4) General Coalition
Function or Scales Bridging Multiple Constructs, and 5) Impacts
and Outcomes. Within each of these general categories, sets of similar
constructs are grouped together under subheadings. A paper with
additional information regarding this inventory and suggestions
for use has been published in Health Education Research (see
