This project evaluated the impact of a state level teacher development,
program assessment, and accountability program in physical education.
The purpose was to document the process used to establish the SC
Physical Education Assessment Reform Policy, its assessment program,
assessment materials, dissemination and training. In addition, teacher
knowledge of, attitudes toward, and changes made as a result of
the reform efforts were identified, and assessment data submitted
by 70 schools were analyzed to describe the performance of students
and to document the factors related to school performance on the
PE program assessment criteria.
