Comments:
The objective of this 14-page booklet is to prepare sedentary adults to
start a physical activity program. It lists the three components of a
fitness program: aerobic activity, muscular strength, and flexibility.
It includes tips on how to start your program, such as what time of day
to exercise, and equipment needed (shoes, clothes). It includes an
appealing section on putting your plan in motion and another on ways to
make exercise more fun and enjoyable. Goal-setting techniques are
described along with a list of 30 ways to be more active. The brochure
is packed full of great information but it is written at a eighth grade
reading level, which might be too high for some readers, and has no
graphics to keep your attention. This brochure has a lot of useful
information that could help individuals as they start their exercise programs.
