Comments:
This material promotes individuals to be physically active in a way that
suits them best while educating them on what physical fitness is, why
people are physically active and how to stay motivated. No specific
populations are addressed through this material although the material
appears appropriate for individuals looking to be educated more on
physical activity. The message is organized well around the focus of
educating people on the variety of activities people do, reasons why
people exercise, what physical fitness is, and how to stay motivated.
The amount of physical activity being promoted is limited to moderate
intensity activity that is of interest and performed for about 30 minutes
a day several times a week. The 10th grade reading level, which is a
little high, is "good" as the grade level is inflated due to the repeated
use of the words "exercise" and "exercising". While the figures are
limited to the cover photo the formatting does a good at making the text
easier to follow. Overall, this material does a good job at educating
it's audience on various issues related to creating an exercise program
that is right for them.
